I have decided that it is extremely difficult to have a passion alone.
I've been writing since the third grade. I still remember my teacher, Ms. Sauer, and my best friend, Mariah, encouraging me, writing with me, telling me to put it down on paper. I started with a cute little fantasy story about a half fairy creature. It was awful. But I was obsessed. I wrote...gosh I don't know, 10 different "sequels"?
I've come a long way since then. I'm not good; I have no question about that. But I'm passionate. But trying to harbor that passion when I sit home alone most days is exceedingly difficult. So I'm going to attempt to reach out. I have a friend that writes. I only hope she's even remotely interested in writing together.
And...I'm taking part in NaNoWriMo again. National Novel Writing Month (the month of November). Last year I participated for the first time, but I had an excellent jump on the challenge because I already had a story started. This year, I've got barely 7000 words. And the goal is to hit 50000. I have my work cut out for me.
But dear God, I'm going to try.

Married Life
I've been married for a little over 2 weeks. Gosh, that's weird to say. My last name is different, my address is different... I'm all a little jumbled up right now.
But it's been incredible. I love this man so much, it's hard to even comprehend at times. We went on vacation for 2 weeks and explored every nook and cranny of the islands of Hawaii that we could. I'm about 80% moved in with him and we're both back to the grind with work. But it's been nice. Normal.
I hope to get back to what I used to do with this blog as things settle in a little more. I made a really good chicken and biscuits recipe the other day that I can post and I plan on sharing some more DIY soon too. But I'm still in settle-in mode, so bear with me.
In the meantime, have a couple of beautiful photos from our 50th state.
